We created panoramic as a demonstration of our capabilities. It uses a large, scalable geo-spatial query engine, based on HBase, to allow us to quickly scan over half a million local businesses, charities, and municipal organizations and filter them to those organizations with locations near the client device. Panoramic then cross references this information with organization and location specific twitter feeds, to show the user what sorts of events and promotions are going on nearby.

A political party in your pants pocket.

The Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) was looking for a way to engage their supporters on the go. We worked closely with stakeholders to design an elegant user interface that combines all of the organization's social media accounts and website news feeds into a single stream we call the mobile media funnel.

The funnel gives supporters a single place to find DPVA content from Twitter, Flickr, and YouTube. A built-in posting feature allows users to share any article in the stream directly to thier personal Twitter or Facebook account.

To keep supporters informed about fundraisers, committee meetings, and other events, the app lists information from the DPVA's calendar along with location and contact details.

Help a gentleman avoid embarassment

We were excited to help the Grooming Lounge design an app that would promote the their brand, products, and services in a viral manner. Together we created the concept for "The Grooming Lounge: Send a Tip", an app that allows users to anonymously notify their friends of potentially embarassing grooming and hygiene issues. The toungue in cheek humor was a perfect fit for the brand and a great vehicle to drive new customers to the Grooming Lounge's website. Tips are sent to a recipient's email address, directly from the Grooming Lounge.

The app also displays recent posts from the company's blog and a contact page where users can tap to call a Grooming Lounge location to schedule an appointment.

Holiday Cheer + Energy Conservation

Pepco Holdings is one of the largest energy delivery companies (Fortune 500) in the country, serving over 1.9 million customers in three states and Washington, DC.

Pepco asked us to develop a holiday eCard app for the iPhone to promote energy awareness and energy conservation during the holiday season. In less than four weeks, Citrrus worked with Pepco to design and deliver a from scratch app. Users are able to customize the front and back of an eCard, by choosing from a library of decorations, placing them anywhere on the card, and typing a personalized message to the recipient. The eCard can then be sent from the app, as an email attachment, to a friend or family member.

Some wine with that cheese?

The California Wine Club has a great story. They concentrate exclusively on smaller family owned vineyards and put a lot of effort into being a wine club that is accessible to novice wine enthusiasts as well as seasoned experts.

After noticing that a shockingly large amount of their web traffic came from mobile devices, The California Wine Club decided an app was in order. We were asked to translate the concept of a physical wine pairing wheel to the iPhone. After a lot of custom animation and graphics work, this app has becoming one of the most interactive and engaging apps we've produced.

The California Wine Club has targeted early October for a combined app launch and marketing blitz.

Best. Sales Tool. Ever.

We're not at liberty to dicuss which of our clients requested this iPad app, but we can tell you that a very forward-looking organization enlisted our help to create a digital sales brochure on the iPad. Chock full of images and video, along with an analytics package and lead capture features, this is one serious sales tool.
